Walmart kicks off campaign

Walmart associates from all across Alaska traveled to Anchorage to kick off this year’s Children’s Miracle Network campaign with a celebratory breakfast at Providence Alaska Medical Center. Our guest of honor was Children’s Miracle Network Champion Moriah along with her parents Brian and Kristine. Moriah and family shared their powerful story and thanked the associates for all they do for the hospital. Moriah spent over 80 days in the pediatric unit this past summer while undergoing chemotherapy treatment for leukemia. Children’s Miracle Network funds provided a child life specialist which helped Moriah cope with her hospitalization and stocked the pediatric play room where Moriah loved to do arts and craft projects.

This event was a great opportunity for associates from communities outside of Anchorage to visit the hospital and see first-hand how their fundraising helps Alaskan children. After breakfast was over the out-of-town guests toured the pediatric and newborn intensive care units. The morning had a profound effect on everyone and the associates left with the energy and drive to have a great campaign this year!
